Welcome from Sousan Arafeh, PhD
I founded Research Images when I was working at the American Institute for Research in Washington, DC to provide direct or advisory services to individuals and organizations needing support for smaller, niche projects. As a result, our consultancy has served regional, national, and international clients since 2000.
I am interested in the macro (policy, strategic planning, efficiency for excellence), the micro (intra- and inter-personal interaction), and how they shape each other and affect how our organizations work and intended and unintended impacts they have. Research Images tends to employ qualitative methods for its research-based projects, but utilizes quantitative and mixed methods when beneficial. When larger teams are needed for the work, we draw upon the expertise of trusted associates.
I am a Professor of Educational Leadership & Policy Studies and the Director of the Integrated Justice & Social Change Collaborative at Southern Connecticut State University. I am also the founding editor of the Journal of Collaboration for Equitable Change.
I have spent my lifetime dedicated to fostering a more just and equitable society. This is currently realized through my support of educators who are transitioning into administrative roles and, through Research Images, my support of individuals and organizations striving to elevate their work and impact.
A critical, divergent thinker, I value difference, embrace ambiguity and, ultimately, seek to create connections – whether among people, ideas, disciplines, or technologies. My strength -- and the strength of Research Images -- is the ability to look at challenges holistically and synthesize creative responses. The result?... Innovative research for good.
